I had a brand new green notebook for Spa, as its predecessor had finally been used up, and much of the early part of the Belgium 2018 section is taken up with notes relating to the highly complex tale of how Force India was able to become Racing Point Force India F1 and how it managed to keep all its rights and benefits, starting immediately. It is remarkable that this has been achieved given that Formula 1 has a habit of tripping itself up by having teams destroying one another. As I wrote in my JSBM insider newsletter, while many of the F1 team bosses are still locked into the mentality of the Bernie Ecclestone era, things are beginning to change.
