On Friday, Yamaha and its satellite team Pramac Racing displayed its 2025 MotoGP liveries as both teams prepare for the upcoming season.
Behind the scenes, Yamaha lost its long-serving managing director Lin Jarvis after he opted to leave his position at the end of the 2024 season. Paolo Pavesio arrives after years of extensive experience within the Japanese marque’s Motor Europe division.
Both Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins will remain as the factor team’s riders for both the 2025 and 2026 seasons, having penned contract extensions early in the 2024 season.
The Japanese brand has plenty of optimism for the future despite a difficult year in 2024 that saw the constructor finish second last in the constructors’ standings. Neither rider featured on the rostrum once.
In addition, Yamaha acquired the services of former GasGas Tech3 rider Augusto Fernandez to join its test and development team, who will join Andrea Dovizioso at the upcoming Sepang Shakedown Test.
For the upcoming season, Yamaha and Pramac Racing formed a partnership after the satellite team ended its long-standing affiliation with Ducati.
Pramac became the first independent team to win the riders’ championship in the MotoGP era but has a brand new rider line-up for the 2025 season.
Jack Miller joins the project after a two-year stint with KTM, accompanied by Portuguese star Miguel Oliveira. A noticeable difference, however, is that the Australian rider signed a one-year deal whereas Oliveira signed on for two years.
