Romain Grosjean will take-over Nick Heidfeld’s test role at Pirelli after the German secured a race seat with Sauber for the closing part of the season.
The ex-Renault driver will conduct the next test in Monza for the 2011 tyre supplier, continuing Heidfeld’s development work.
Several drivers had been touted as possible replacements, including the departing Spaniard, Pedro de la Rosa, however, it was Grosjean who finally secured the role.
The contract is for just a single test with the option to extend it if need be.
