Current Formula E Season Four championship leaders Techeetah have named electric vehicle manufacturer Electra Meccanica as a new partner.
Founded in 2015, Electra Meccanica is a Canadian EV manufacturer and recently unveiled its SOLO car – a three-wheel emission-free vehicle that has been branded as the "smartest commuter car on the planet".
Powered by a 16kW battery, the SOLO has a range of 160km and can reach speeds of up to 130km/h whilst having a recharge time of three-six hours.
"We're extremely happy to welcome Electra Meccanica onboard as a new partner," said Keith Smout, Chief Commercial Officer of Techeetah.
"The company stands for progressive battery electric vehicle innovation which fits well with our brand. We are going from strength to strength as a team, not only on track but also off track.
"It's been great to add yet another partner to our partner roaster and look forward to planning some exciting activation with Electra Meccanica," he added.
Jerry Kroll, CEO of Electra Meccanica continued:
"When we started the company three years ago we decided to go try and reach far and wide within the electric mobility sphere," he said.
"Teaming up with the championship leaders, Techeetah Formula-E represents our ambition and we're very excited about starting to activate with the team and being part of the larger the Formula E network."
With one race weekend remaining in Formula E's 2017/18 season, Techeetah lead the Teams' Championship by 33 points over Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler while driver Jean-Eric Vergne holds a 23 point advantage in the Drivers' Standings with DS Virgin Racing's Sam Bird standing as his only challenger.
