Mir set the pace at the start of the afternoon session with a 1:45.182s, though was quickly usurped by future MotoGP rival Miguel Oliveira, who guided his Ajo KTM to a 1:45.141s.

Marquez took over from the pair moments later with a 1:44.991s, which he improved to a 1:44.624. Oliveira demoted him soon after, though Fabio Quartararo did not allow this to stand for long after putting in a 1:44.484s.

A crash for Oliveira at Turn 9 in the closing six minutes ended his run, and he could do no better than fifth on the FP2 times and 10th overall.

Marquez returned to the top of the timesheets with a 1:44.340s 18 minutes from the end, and came under no threat as the session time expired.

Schrotter once again ended the session in second, though is third on the combined times thanks to Bagnaia's FP1 effort keeping him top ahead of Marquez.

Quartararo held onto third in FP2 despite a late fall, and remains inside the top six on the overall times after a strong opening day for the Speed Up rider.

Xavi Vierge was fourth in FP2 ahead of Oliveira, while Brad Binder completed the top six on the sister Ajo KTM, with Mir seventh.

Simone Corsi was eighth on his Tasca Racing machine, while Bagnaia and CGBM Evolution KTM's Sam Lowes rounded out the top 10.
