LCR Honda has confirmed Cal Crutchlow suffered no “major injuries” in his monster highside crash during MotoGP qualifying in France, but his participation in Sunday's race is yet to be decided.

Crutchlow was ejected from his RC213V as he wound up the throttle to exit the left-hander of Garage Vert in the closing stages of the opening qualifying session.

The session was red-flagged while the Briton was attended to by circuit medical staff, before being stretchered off track and taken to the medical centre, subsequently being transferred to the Centre Hospitalier du Mans.

Further checks revealed Crutchlow – who complained of hip pain immediately after the crash – suffered no fractures, though is still to undergo more tests before being discharged, with a decision on whether he will race at Le Mans or not coming after.

In a statement, team boss Lucio Cecchinello said: “The most important thing first of all is that, after examination, both at the Le Mans medical centre and here at the hospital in Le Mans, Cal has suffered no fractures or major injuries.

“However, before Cal can be discharged from the hospital, he must undergo a series of blood tests and get their results.

“We will await the results of these tests and reports before making any further decisions, and will endeavour to keep the media and fans updated as soon as we have more information.”

Having missed the Q2 cut in FP3, Crutchlow's crash denied him the chance to progress into the second part of qualifying, and is set to start 13th.

Crutchlow currently sits seventh in the championship, 32 points from standings leader and Honda stablemate Marc Marquez, after back-to-back non-scores in Texas and Spain due to crashes.
