Daniel Abt took a dominant win for Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler at the Berlin E-Prix, leading from lights out to the chequered flag after 45 laps.
Starting from pole position, Abt led into Turn 1 on the first lap from NIO Formula E's Oliver Turvey and continued to lead after the first tour of the Flughafen Tempelhof circuit, while Dragon Racing's Jerome d'Ambrosio overtook championship leader Jean-Eric Vergne for third place.
With d'Ambrosio holding up the pack in third after securing a spot in Super Pole for Dragon, Abt and Turvey were able to pull away an open up a gap to the Belgian.
Clearing d'Ambrosio on lap two, Vergne moved into the podium positions while Lucas di Grassi and Sebastien Buemi also followed the current championship leader.
After setting multiple fastest laps, di Grassi closed in on the back of Vergne, overtaking the Frenchman for third while Buemi followed his rival through to take fourth position, pushing Vergne down to fifth place.
Turvey was easy pickings for di Grassi on lap 12, with the Brazilian racer overtaking the Briton to claim second, aiming to close down on his team-mate who continued to lead out in front while Vergne was able to find a way past Buemi to reclaim fourth.
The pit window opened on lap 22 when Turvey pitted after consuming a large amount of his usable energy. One lap later, the rest of the field filed into the pit lane for Formula E's mandatory mid-race car switch, and after jumping into his second car of the race, Abt emerged as the leader once again, with di Grassi closing in after a quicker stop.
Rejoining the race, di Grassi was unable to maintain pace with his team-mate and Abt pulled away into the distance.
Behind, the battle for the final step on the podium raged on, with Buemi and Vergne passing Turvey to claim third and fourth. Vergne later found a way past Buemi to reclaim third place.
When the chequered flag waved on lap 45, Abt claimed his second victory of Season Four while di Grassi finished in second place to complete an Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler 1-2 – second place marking his fourth consecutive finish on the second step of the podium. Vergne stood on the final step of the podium, extending his championship lead.
Outside of the podium positions, Buemi finished in fourth, holding off Turvey who finished in fifth place for NIO, taking 10 points away from the race.
Mitch Evans finished in sixth place for Jaguar Racing while Sam Bird was seventh for DS Virgin Racing.
Maro Engel finished in eighth place to take four points away from his home race and was followed by Andre Lotterer who finished in ninth after starting in 20th place. Nick Heidfeld completed the top 10 for Mahindra Racing.
Outside of the points-paying positions, Felix Rosenqvist finished in 11th in the second Mahindra while Piquet was 12th, locking up in Turn 1 late in the race, costing him a points finish.
On his Formula E return, Tom Dillmann finished in 13th while Alex Lynn had a difficult race in Berlin to finish in 16th in the second DS Virgin car.
