Leonardo Pulcini has ended ART Grand Prix's dominance in qualifying in the GP3 series by taking pole position for Campos Racing.
Pulcini's pole position lap – a 1m 32.258s – beat ART's Nikita Mazepin by 0.057s, marking the first time since the Spanish round of the 2016 GP3 Championship that a non-ART car has started from pole position.
With Mazepin qualifying in second place, the Russian driver beat his two ART team-mates of Anthoine Hubert and Callum Ilott who ended the session in third and fourth respectively.
Niko Kari completed the top five for MP Motorsport, 0.332s adrift of Pulcini's pole while Dorian Boccolacci was sixth fastest.
Campos Racing's Simo Laaksonen qualified in seventh and was followed by series rookie David Beckmann who secured eighth place for Jenzer Motorsport.
Alessio Lorandi and Giuliano Alesi qualified in ninth and 10th place for Trident.
Outside of the top ten, Britain's Jake Hughes failed to match the qualifying performances of his ART Grand Prix team-mates, ending the session in 11th fastest while newcomer Will Palmer, brother of ex F1 driver Jolyon Palmer, qualified in 20th, 1.452s off the pace.
