After missing the Paris ePrix last weekend, Luca Filippi will return to NIO Formula E for the Berlin ePrix this month.

After the inaugural Rome ePrix which also marked Filippi's home race, the Italian racer was dropped from  NIO's starting lineup, with the team's reserve driver Ma Qing Hua competing in Paris alongside Oliver Turvey.

The switch that NIO carried out between Filippi and Ma marked the team's right to change one of their drivers ahead of the final three races of Season Four.

After failing to pull away from his grid slot at the Paris ePrix, Ma finished the race down in 17th place, three laps behind Jean-Eric Vergne who won the race for Techeetah.

After eight races this season, NIO sit in eighth in the Teams' Championship through the efforts of Turvey, Filippi and Ma, with Turvey securing the team's best result of the season with a second place at the Mexico City ePrix.

While Turvey has scored 34 points this season to complete the top 10 in the Drivers' Championship, Filippi has only scored one point which was secured at the opening round of the 2017/18 season in Hong Kong.
