After securing the victory at the third running of the Paris ePrix last weekend, Jean-Eric Vergne has admitted that he is still taking the championship one race at a time and that he will push Techeetah "very hard" until the final race of Season Four despite leading the Drivers' Championship.

On the streets of the French capital, Vergne claimed pole position through a clinical qualifying performance before converting this into a dominant race win, leading from when the starting lights went out until the chequered flag waved.

With an additional 28 points in the bag from the weekend, the Frenchman increased his lead over Sam Bird in the Drivers' Championship, extending what was an 18 point lead into a 31 point advantage after his DS Virgin Racing rival and former team-mate of Season Two finished in third.

“It was the race I wanted to win this year and to have done it in such a good way from pole position was absolutely amazing – I couldn’t be happier, especially with my birthday this week," said Vergne post-race.

"We’re racing in the most beautiful city in the world, we have the best location on the Formula E calendar.

"Paris has done a great job in creating an event seeing how many fans there were here. I’m happy that the Mayor of Paris is backing us to keep moving forward with the championship."

Despite being the dominant force on the grid in the 2017/18 season having taken an impressive four pole positions and three victories for Techeetah, Vergne is continuing to take his title campaign one race at a time, with four races remaining this season:

"I don’t think about the title yet, it’s too far away, and I take one race after another – anything can happen in Formula E," he added.

"I don’t want the team to think they can relax, and I will still push them very hard until the very last race.”

While Vergne holds the lead in the Drivers' Championship, Techeetah also sit on the top of the table in the Teams' Standings, with 55 points separating the independent Chinese squad from the DS Virgin outfit.
