Renault development driver Jack Aitken managed to be fourth fastest ahead of Nyck De Vries' Prema and the Charouz of Louis Deletraz.
Trident's Arjun Maini pipped Oliver Rowland who continued to stand in for the unwell Nicholas Latifi into seventh fastest ahead of GP3 champion George Russell in the ART.
