With a new aerokit coming to the IndyCar Series, teams were posed with the challenge of revitalising the look of their machinery. Some opted to keep their traditional designs, while others acquired new sponsors and took the opportunity to mix things up a bit. From the modern classics to the design trailblazers, these are the 10 cars that best capture the spirit of the championship's new era:

#10 – Alex Rossi – Andretti Autosport

No reason to mess with a solid livery, goes well with the new sidepods too!

#9 – Will Power – Team Penske

The Silver Arrow of IndyCar will shine at its brightest under the floodlights.

#8 – Jack Harvey – Michael Shank with Schmidt Peterson Motorsport

Metallic purple was a bold choice, but the whole package works and is sure to catch attention.

#7 – Kyle Kaiser/Rene Binder – Juncos Racing

The mix of colors and their proportion is spot on as Juncos bring their traditional racing colours to IndyCar.

#6 – Graham Rahal – Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing

No need to google Graham Rahal's nationality! Good use of the main sponsor on the sides.

#5 – Ryan Hunter-Reay – Andretti Autosport

The Andretti Autosport paint shop keeps rolling out the classics!

#4 – Spencer Pigot – Ed Carpenter Racing

ECR's traditional green and gold was brightened this year to magnificent results.

#3 – Simon Pagenaud – Team Penske

Yellow with red-and-black detailing? Can't go wrong!

#2 – Scott Dixon – Chip Ganassi Racing

Replacing the iconic Target paint job that became synonimous with CGR was a tall order, but Dixon's new livery might just do it.

#1 – Sebastien Bourdais – Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan

Late nineties F1 called, said it misses cheeky efforts like this dearly.
