Sacha Fenestraz will compete for Carlin in this year’s European Formula 3 Championship.
Fenestraz, 18, claimed last season’s Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 title, securing backing from the French manufacturer in the process, and dabbled in F3 with Carlin at the Nurburgring and Macau.
He will now graduate full-time to the series this year, linking up once more with Carlin, which guided McLaren protégé Lando Norris to the 2017 crown.
“Since I first got behind the wheel of a Formula 3 car I really liked the handling and the aero efficiency of the car,” explained Fenestraz.
“I’m really happy to compete in the 2018 European Championship and to continue my journey with Carlin.
“The team is very professional in its approach to racing and you can quickly understand why it has such a track record in all single-seater categories!
“This environment will allow me to continue gaining experience.
“Next season, my goal will be to get first place in the Rookies’ classification and to get the best result in the overall championship.”
