Ferrari-backed Guanyu Zhou will remain with Prema for this year’s European Formula 3 Championship.

Zhou, runner-up in Italian F4 with Prema in 2015, returned to the squad for 2017, having spent his rookie F3 campaign in 2016 at Motopark.

Zhou collected five podium finishes to classify eighth overall in the standings and will line up for the team again in 2018.

“I am really happy to be at Prema for the 2018 season,” said the 18-year-old.

“The last two years of work have paid off for me and the team has been successful too, so I’m looking forward to a great year together, I feel more than ready for the coming season.”

Zhou joins Ralf Aron and fellow Ferrari protégés Robert Shwartzman and Marcus Armstrong at the team.

"Zhou is definitely an interesting prospect and has a lot of potential not to mention being the best Chinese racer in junior single seater competition so we are excited to have him back for 2018," said Team Manager Rene Rosin.

"Last season, he produced great racing but we are sure he can perform even better so we can’t wait to see him back on track."
