Ginetta has taken the wraps off its new-for-2018 LMP1 car that will race in the World Endurance Championship 'super season'.
The G6-LT-P1 is the Yorkshire-based company's first venture into the top prototype category of the WEC and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Manor TRS Racing will enter one car, with another two-car customer effort still to be announced.
Ginetta chairman Lawrence Tomlinson, Ginetta technical director Ewan Baldry and Manor sporting director Graeme Lowdon were on hand to reveal the car at the Autosport International show in Birmingham on Thursday.
“I’m delighted to finally be able to unveil our latest machine to the motorsport industry, and what better time than at the start of our 60th year of manufacturing." said Tomlinson.
"Ginetta has a long history of international success in with the G55 GT4, LMP3 and G57. The LMP1 will be a strong contender in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and at Le Mans."
"We have a great team of design engineers in Leeds, have worked with some excellent partners on the project, and can’t wait to show you what the LMP1 is made of out on track.”
The Ginetta will begin testing in the coming weeks, having taken delivery of all its parts.
It is powered by a turbocharged V6 Mecachrome engine, capable of producing 650 brake horsepower.
Ginetta has pledged a production run of 10 chassis, including spares, that will be available to purchase for £1.34 million each.
Next year's WEC and Le Mans grids are set to feature an upsurge in privately-run LMP1 entries, including Ginetta, SMP Racing, DragonSpeed, ByKolles and Rebellion.
