Ferrari factory GT driver Sam Bird will return to the Rolex 24 at Daytona next January with the 2017 IMSA championship-winning Scuderia Corsa squad.
The 30-year-old Brit is down to co-drive a GT Daytona-class Ferrari 488 with 2016 Le Mans class winners Townsend Bell and Bill Sweedler, plus 2015 Pirelli World Challenge champion Frankie Montecalvo.
Bird made his debut at the IMSA season-opening enduro in 2014 with prototype outfit Starworks, before heading into the GT ranks with Scuderia Corsa earlier this year (pictured).
After winning the class title with Alessandro Balzan and Christina Nielsen, Scuderia Corsa will field two Ferraris next season: one for its previously announced full-season driver lineup of Balzan and Cooper MacNeil, and the other for the Bell/Sweedler/Montecalvo crew in the four-round North American Endurance Cup.
Bird will join the endurance entry at Daytona only, before embarking on the rest of his Formula E championship campaign with DS Virgin.
