McLaren’s latest hypercar is a tribute to F1 legend Ayrton Senna

McLaren has dedicated its latest hypercar to the late and great Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna by simply calling it the 'Senna', which breaks from its traditional model designation which uses a number based on power output and a letter.

The 'Senna' is the latest model in the Ultimate Series and comes with a 4.0-litre flat-plane-crank version of their twin-turbocharged V8, producing 789 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. It weighs just 1,198 kg.

The car, whilst road worthy, is mainly aimed at track running with the styling defined by aerodynamics over style, with huge cooling vents and air channels to increase downforce.

Production will be limited to just 500 units, and will cost £750,000.
