Kimi Raikkonen says nobody to blame for failure to start race

Kimi Räikkönen says his Ferrari team aren't to blame for his failure to start the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Räikkönen, who had qualified second behind polesitter Lewis Hamilton, took up his grid position for the race, but encountered engine issues which forced his team to push his car off the grid and back into his garage ahead of the formation lap.

Räikkönen therefore failed to start the race on the same weekend team-mate Sebastian Vettel failed to take part in qualifying due to an engine problem.

But the Finn insists nobody is to blame and put it down as "one of those things".

"It’s nothing that they did wrong," said Räikkönen. "The car was working perfectly yesterday and all weekend and suddenly out of nowhere we had some issue today.

"It’s not blaming anybody, it’s one of those things that unfortunately happens."

He added: "It’s not been the easiest weekend. I think car-wise, speed-wise we’ve been very good this weekend. But unfortunately Seb had issues yesterday with the other car and us today.

"It’s disappointing but there’s nobody to blame. It’s one of those things."
