Sauber has confirmed that it has signed a multi-year agreement to continue its partnership with Ferrari, a day after publicly announcing that it had teminated its proposed Honda relationship.

Sauber signed an agreement with Honda earlier in the season to use its power units in 2018, but rumours surfaced that the team was seeking to abort the planned partnership, heightened by the exit of Monisha Kaltenborn as team boss.

On Thursday, Sauber confirmed it had split from Honda, and on Friday morning announced that it has renewed its partnership with Ferrari, to use current-year power units.

"I am very pleased to confirm that we will continue to work with Ferrari as our engine supplier in form of a multi-year agreement," said team boss Frederic Vasseur.

"The shared experience between Sauber and Ferrari has built a strong foundation, which will allow us to move forward swiftly and efficiently, also in terms of the development of the 2018 car.

"I am convinced that together we can achieve the results which reflect the passion and determination that is, and always has been, behind Sauber."
