Pirelli has concluded its latest in-season tyre test, with McLaren's Stoffel Vandoorne completing two-days of running at the former French Grand Prix venue, Magny Cours.
Pirelli is allowed 25 days of in-season testing with 2017 cars this season, and the Formula 1 supplier chose to focus on improving its wet weather tyres, specifically the intermediate tyre, with the test taking place across Wednesday and Thursday.
Vandoorne completed 135 laps of trouble-free running on Wednesday and a further 117 laps on Thursday, bringing the Belgian's total to 252, or 1,108km – just under four race distances.
A second test also took place at Silverstone on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Williams' Lance Stroll and Haas reserve Antonio Giovinazzi completing slick and wet tyre testing for Pirelli.
Both tests were 'blind', which means the drivers and teams are unaware of what compound is being used, and whether it is a current or prototype construction. All the data collected is distributed by Pirelli to all 10 teams.
The next tyre test is due to take place at the Hungaroring in August.
