Confirmed starting grid for the 2017 British Grand Prix

A number of penalties has slightly reshuffled the grid for Sunday's British Grand Prix. Although the top three remain the same from qualifying, things change a little behind as Valtteri Bottas, Fernando Alonso and Daniel Ricciardo share a total grid drop of 50 places between them, the majority of which belong to the McLaren driver.

Lewis Hamilton retains his pole position despite the threat of a penalty from the stewards for blocking Romain Grosjean, but the Briton was later cleared of any wrongdoing, much to Grosjean's anger as he suggested the title fight was the reason for that.

Hamilton's team-mate Bottas drops from fourth to ninth thanks to a gearbox penalty – the same problem that hit Hamilton in Austria and saw him start eighth. That moves Max Verstappen, Nico Hulkenberg, Sergio Perez, Esteban Ocon and Stoffel Vandoorne a place higher each.

Daniel Ricciardo starts from 19th after taking a gearbox penalty (+5) and then a new MGU-H (+10). He was however slowest in qualifying after a turbo failure, so actually gains a position thanks to Alonso's mammoth 30-place grid drop.
