Zoran Stefanovic, founder of the failed Stefan GP outfit which failed in its attempts to join the Formula 1 grid in 2010, is hoping a second attempt will be successful, according to Autosport.
The Serbian-born businessman met with Liberty Media's director of motorsport Ross Brawn in Austria this weekend to discuss his plans for a new F1 team, which it's hoped will be ready to join the grid in 2019.
It comes after Stefanovic's attempts at securing an entry for his Stefan GP outfit, which he, at the time, claimed was fully-funded and had already designed and built its cars ready for the 2010 season.
The FIA however denied him an entry and the project fell apart.
Speaking to Autosport in Austria, Stefanovic explained that he hoped to launch a new team based out of Italy, which would join in 2019.
"I am here to meet Ross Brawn because I am setting up an F1 team based in Italy," he said.
"Before coming to Austria I've put together some very important agreements: I defined that it will be based in Parma, which is located a reasonable distance from the wind tunnel.
"I've also signed a contract with a specialist in aerodynamics to help work on the project."
