Cetilar Racing will return to the IMSA Endurance Cup, part of the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, with Roberto Lacorte, Antonio Fuoco, and Giorgio Sernagiotto behind the wheel of the team’s Ferrari 296 GT3.

Fuoco is a Ferrari factory driver and a member of the six drivers who race the Ferrari 499P prototype in the FIA World Endurabce Championship. Lacorte, meanwhile, is an Italian entrepreneur and amatuer racing driver, with many years experience in racing both prototypes and GT cars around the world.

Together they were part of the crew who won the 2022 12 Hours of Sebring in GTD, for Cetilar.

They’ll be joined in 2024 by silver ranked Giorgio Sernagiotto, making it three Italians in the car for the five endurance races which make up the Endurance Cup. Sernagiotto has raced in WEC and IMSA since 2017 for the former and 2021 for the latter, for Cetilar, in both LMP2 and in GT cars.

Next month for the Daytona 24 Hours, the trio will be joined by Eddie Cheever III, the Italian-American son of 1998 Indy 500 winner Eddie Cheever. Cheever III l;ast competed in IMSA in 2022, also at Sebring, for Risi Competizione in GTD Pro, where he, alongside his teammates, finished 9th in class.

Cetilar’s best finish in the 2023 IMSA season was 13th at Petit Le Mans, the season finale, as Italian team got to grips with the new 296 GT3.

“The 2023 season was not easy,” Lacorte said. “We were aware of it from the beginning, but it served to develop the car to take a step forward compared to our competitors. Cetilar Racing was the first to hit the track with the Ferrari 296 GT3, making history with this car, and now we aim to do even better.”

Daytona 24 Hours opens both the IMSA Endurance Cup and the Sportscar Championship, taking place 27-28th January.
