AF Corse has named the likes of Ferrari factory GT drivers Davide Rigon and Alessio Rovera amongst their six 2024 World Endurance Championship drivers.

Thomas Flohr, founder and chairman of title sponsor Vistajet, and Francesco Castellacci will join Rigon in the #54 Ferrari 296 GT3, a lineup retained from the 2023 season.

In the other LMGT3 entry, Simon Mann and WEC debutant Francois Heriau will join Rovera in the #55 Ferrari.

With these six drivers, AF Corse is set to begin their first WEC campaign with the new Ferrari 296 GT3 package, representing the Maranello brand against eight other LMGT3 manufacturers in the 2024 season.

Flohr said: “FIA WEC is at an incredible inflection point — with nine car manufacturers joining WEC GT in 2024, competing in what is next to F1 the highest level of motorsport, a true world championship.

“To represent Ferrari with the two competing cars is a big honor and responsibility for the Vista AF Corse team.

“And: a further expansion of Vista’s longtime partnership with Ferrari.”

Antonello Coletta, Ferrari Global Head Endurance and Corse Clienti, added: “The new FIA World Endurance Championship class for GT cars is an interesting challenge for a manufacturer, and, in our case, we believe the Ferrari 296 LMGT3 is a very competitive platform.

“I am happy that Vista AF Corse is racing our Ferrari because, over time, it has proven to be a steadily developing team, as shown by the victory at the 6 Hours of Fuji.

“With the support of our official drivers involved in the project, I hope they can give our fans much pleasure.”

Amato Ferrari, AF Corse’s founder, commented: “The partnership with Vista has grown stronger and stronger over the years, bringing success and satisfaction; the Vista AF Corse team was born on these solid foundations.

“Now we have an even bigger challenge ahead of us which we embrace with the right humility but, at the same time, confident in our potential.”

The #54 crew finished third in the final GTE Am championship, most notably gaining a win at the 6 Hours of Fuji.

For 2024, it will be their first WEC campaign with LMGT3 machinery, utilising a package which won the 24 Hours of the Nurburgring earlier this year.

With their vast level of experience, AF Corse will attempt to replicate their Hypercar counterparts with a targeted win in their category at the historic 24 Hours of Le Mans on 15-16 June, the fourth out of eight rounds on the 2024 schedule.
