Formula E has tweaked its FanBoost fan engagement system ahead of the Buenos Aires ePrix on February 18.
FanBoost was introduced to Formula E at its very first race in 2014, calling on fans to vote for their favourite driver in order to give them an in-race power boost.
The concept has been tinkered with throughout the series' life, with the most recent change being confirmed by Formula E on Monday prior to the next race in Buenos Aires.
Firstly, the voting window has been reduced from 13 days to just six "to condense the time during which the teams and drivers canvass for votes and increase the amount of fan engagement they partake in", according to Formula E.
Instagram voting has also been discontinued, meaning that votes can now only be gained via the Formula E website, the Formula E app and on Twitter.
The changes come following concerns that have been raised by a number of Formula E drivers over the ability for votes to be automated, thus influencing the fan-created results.
FanBoost for the Buenos Aires ePrix will open on February 13 and close six minutes into the race. The three most popular drivers will receive a 100kJ power boost to use in their second car that can be used once.
