Jenson Button is pleased with yet another 1-2 for the McLaren team after a difficult race saw him come through from fourth to second.
The 2009 world champion is renowned for managing his tyres, something which was crucial in the Canadian GP as both compounds wore quicker than expected.
“It was a very different race. The tyres are so important and you’re not sure if you’re pushing hard enough,” said Button.
“But it was a great race, really enjoyable. It wasn’t about being flat out, you had to think about every situation.”
Button admitted that Hamilton’s pole lap was out of reach, however the Brit managed to catch his team-mate in the race, just falling short of taking the lead.
“It’s another one-two for the team. I’d rather it was the other way around, but Lewis put in a phenomenal lap yesterday in qualifying that I couldn’t touch.”
