GP3 vice-champion Alexander Albon topped the time sheets on the second day of GP2 post-season testing at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

The Thai driver, who raced to second in this year's GP3 standings with ART, set a time of 1:49.062, marginally quicker than Trident's Raffaele Marciello, who was just 0.024s behind.

The class of the GP3 runners shone through, with Albon's team mate and championship rival Charles Leclerc third on the timing screens at the end of the afternoon session in the colours of his new team for 2017, Prema.

Much like the GP3 test sessions, which split running with GP2, most drivers found around half a second in the slightly warmer afternoon session, with Albon's time over six tenths faster than Oliver Rowland's morning session-topping effort of 1:49.675.

As far as the afternoon session was concerned, Jordan King posted the fourth-fastest time for MP Motorsport, with Johnny Cecotto Jr fifth.

Next came recent GP2 addition Louis Deletraz for Racing Engineering, with the DAMS pair of Oliver Rowland and Nicolas Latifi seventh and eighth.

Antonio Fuoco settled into his new Prema machinery nicely in ninth, with Nyck de Vries – testing for Rapax – rounding out the top ten.

European F3 drivers Callum Ilott and Sergio Sette Camara posted the 14th and 15th fastest times respectively, with Indy Lights driver Felix Serralles 19th for Carlin, Campos' Daniel Juncadella in 20th, and Chris Hoher (who took part in the the British GP3 rounds for Campos in 2015) placed 22nd for Russian Time.

The final day of testing will take place tomorrow on Friday 2 December.
