Red Bull junior and GP2 driver Pierre Gasly will conduct this week’s Pirelli tyre testing at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

Pirelli is completing extensive testing with its 2017 tyres, which are 25 per cent wider than the current specification.

Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull have been running with modified 2015 cars at the 2017 tyre tests, with the former wrapping one up at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Thursday.

Gasly confirmed on Twitter he will be running for Red Bull at the next 2017 F1 tyre test with Pirelli, which takes place from the 14-16 October in Abu Dhabi.

Testing 2017's F1 tyres during 3 days with @redbullracing & @Pirelli – this is going to be an experience. Looks megaaaa!!

The French driver is currently second in the GP2 standings, behind his Prema Racing team-mate Antonio Giovinazzi.

He already has significant experience testing for Red Bull and Toro Rosso over the last two seasons, but this will be his first time trying the 2017 Pirelli tyres.

Sebastien Buemi previously conducted Red Bull’s 2017 tyre testing, which took place in August at Mugello.
