Arden’s Nabil Jeffri has been handed a penalty for causing a collision with Racing Engineering’s Norman Nato during the Hockenheimring sprint race.
The two drivers collided in the early stages of the race at Turn 8, after Nato was squeezed onto the kerbs while attempting an overtake.
Nato’s car hit the kerb and briefly launched into the air, coming back onto the track and collecting Jeffri.
Following the collision, Jeffri was forced to retire but Nato continued with damage and finished 18th in the results.
Jeffri has now been given a three-place grid penalty for the Spa-Francorchamps feature race at the end of August.
The stewards deemed he had not given Nato enough room during the on-track battle and this caused the collision between them.
