Charles Leclerc and Akash Nandy receive 5-place grid penalties for Silverstone

ART's Charles Leclerc and Akash Nandy of Jenzer Motorsport have each been handed a five-place grid penalty for the GP3 Feature race in Silverstone.

Leclerc was found to be "not driving in accordance to the wet conditions" by the race Stewards, following his collision with Tatiana Calderon on Lap 14.

After seizing Pole position for the Feature race, he found himself down the order during Sunday's Sprint race. Under braking for Turn 2, the Monaco-born racer hit the back of Tatiana Calderon's car, sending her into the wall. Leclerc's ART then continue sliding, and hit the back of Calderon's team mate Jake Dennis, effectively causing an Arden double-retirement.

Leclerc has been fairly dominant thus far, winning the Feature race in Spain, topping both days of the proceeding test, then claiming pole and Feature race win in Austria. However, this reversal of fortune means he will have plenty of work to do if he is maintain his slender five-point advantage over ART team mate Alexander Albon.
