The remainder of the Texas Motor Speedway IndyCar event has been postponed until August 27, series organisers confirmed on Sunday.
The event, which had already been postponed from Saturday to Sunday due to poor weather conditions, was red-flagged after 71 laps as a storm moved into the area, bringing with it heavy rain.
It will now resume on lap 72 on August 27, with 176 laps remaining of the 248-lap race.
"It’s unfortunate that we couldn’t finish the race this weekend due to the weather conditions," said IndyCar president of competition and operations, Jay Frye.
"Everyone at IndyCar and Texas Motor Speedway is committed to putting on a great show when we return on Aug. 27."
The order for the race will be taken from lap 70 and is as follows: Schmidt Peterson Motorsport’s James Hinchcliffe will start from pole, followed by Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport), Mikhail Aleshin (SPM), Will Power (Team Penske) and Ed Carpenter (Ed Carpenter Racing).
A practice session will be held prior to the race, Frye confirmed.
