Lewis Hamilton continued his practice domination by topping the second session for the Canadian Grand Prix as well as the first, with a time of 1m14.212s putting him 0.257s clear of Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel in second.

The Mercedes driver used the ultrasoft tyre to post his quickest lap, whilst team-mate Nico Rosberg looked to struggle on the same tyre as he could only manage third, more than half a second down on the Briton.

Vettel slotted in between the Mercedes cars, putting Ferrari in contention for a good result on Saturday and Sunday, though Red Bull weren't far behind in fourth and fifth, with Max Verstappen leading Daniel Ricciardo, albeit almost a second between them and Hamilton.

Valtteri Bottas and Jenson Button posted identical times for Williams and McLaren respectively, though with Bottas posting his time first, he finished sixth and Button seventh. Their team-mates struggled, with Fernando Alonso P11 and Felipe Massa P13.
