ART Grand Prix driver Nobuharu Matsushita will start Saturday's GP2 sprint race from pole position, after being promoted to eighth in Friday's feature race.
Matsushita had finished ninth following a late crash for Luca Ghiotto, but moved up a place after Antonio Giovinazzi was penalised for cutting the Nouvelle Chicane.
Giovinazzi took his first points finish in Monaco, finishing seventh, but following his five-second penalty, drops to 11th and out of the points.
As a result, Carlin's Marvin Kirchhofer has inherited the position, but it now means Kirchhofer will start Saturday's race from second, instead of first.
Guztav Malja was also hit with the same penalty for a similar infringement at Ste Devote, dropping from 12th to 14th.
