Ducati sporting director Paolo Ciabatti says the manufacturer has yet to decide on a team-mate for Jorge Lorenzo for the 2017 MotoGP season.
On Monday the Spanish rider confirmed his switch to Ducati on a two-year deal, after a long association with Yamaha in MotoGP.
According to Ciabatti, the three-time champion does not mind who his team-mate is. He added that Ducati must decide between current riders Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovizioso.
"We have not decided yet," he told Sky Sports Italia. "First we wanted to ensure the signing of Lorenzo.
"Now we will wait to decide whether Iannone or Dovizioso stays. The two are exceptional and it will not be an easy choice.
“We have spoken to both of them and I don’t think the uncertainty over their future will affect them. We spoke with Jorge and does not care which one is his teammate.”
He said Ducati’s competitiveness so far in 2016 was a draw for Lorenzo, before claiming it was “not difficult” to convince Lorenzo to move from Yamaha to Ducati.
