McLaren's Fernando Alonso has been cleared by the FIA medical delegate to take part in both remaining practice sessions, qualifying, and the race at the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend.
The Spaniard was examined after the first practice session – in which he clocked the 12th-fastest time – and was deemed fit to take part in all remaining sessions.
However, it comes with the condition that Alonso must stop his car immediately "in case of any abnormal symptoms", although no further health assessments will be made.
Alonso is understood to still have fractured ribs following his enormous accident with Esteban Gutierrez at the season-opening Grand Prix in Melbourne last month, but those injuries have not been deemed susbtantial enough to keep him out of the race.
The announcement means that Stoffel Vandoorne will not reprise his role as a substitute for the Spaniard, as was the case in Bahrain, when he deputised for Alonso and brought home a point on his debut.
