The Aston Martin Racing team has announced its plans for the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship season.

The British manufacturer will field two V8 Vantage GTEs in the LMGTE Pro category, down from three in 2015, while it will also race one car in the LMGTE Am class.

The No.95 will be driven Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen, with Darren Turner switching over from the No.97 to partner the Danish drivers.

It will be Turner’s 12th year racing with Aston Martin Racing and he was the first driver to be confirmed at the team for the new season.

Meanwhile factory drivers Richie Stanaway and Jonny Adam, alongside Fernando Rees, will drive the second LMGTE Pro machine.

Its LMGTE Am car, the No.98, will return and be driven by Paul Dalla Lana, Pedro Lamy and Mathias Lauda.

The team’s latest challenger features fully re-designed aerodynamics, as well as new deals to run Dunlop tyres and partner with Total, which becomes its global energy supplier.
