Aprilia has postponed the public debut of its new MotoGP bike until the third and final pre-season test in Qatar in March.
The Gresini-run factory team has prepared an all-new bike for 2016, after completing a development season last year.
The new Aprilia had been expected to debut at Sepang when MotoGP winter testing kicks off next week, but riders Stefan Bradl and Alvaro Bautista will instead run the prototype ‘lab’ bike at the three-day test.
Test rider Mike di Meglio will now shakedown the 2016 bike on February 10-11, before it makes its full debut in a private test at Losail in Qatar.
Aprilia will therefore miss the second scheduled test at Phillip Island, before joining the grid for the final winter test at Losail ahead of the season opener.
