RNF Aprilia becomes final MotoGP team to show off 2023 look

The RNF Racing outfit unveiled a fresh look for its maiden MotoGP season running Aprilia machinery following its switch away from Yamaha over the winter.

Shown off in a virtual launch ahead of this weekend’s Portuguese Grand Prix season opener, the Malaysian-owned squad’s satellite RS-GP’s will sport a predominantly black and blue paint scheme, while flashes of pink are also feature to represent new team shareholder Cryptodata – with branding of the technology development companies’ Wispr software also featuring on the side of the machine.

The team has also managed to secure Italian dairy company Sterilgarda to help replace ’22 title sponsor Withu, which elected to walk away from the operation following just a single campaign, while Greenpower Generators remains on board having sponsored the operation over the last few seasons.

The team’s 2023 rider line-up – consisting of five-time premier class race winner Miguel Oliveira and 2021 Moto2 runner-up Raul Fernandez – were on hand, virtually at least, to uncover the RNF livery, with the former believing his new steed has “a lot of potential” for the season ahead.

“In 2023, I’m facing a new challenge, so I hope we can get along quite well and we can achieve the goals that we set together during this season,” said Oliveira.

“The bike has a lot of potential and I’m sure that now together with the team, we can adapt everything further to my riding and start to be fast in order to be competitive.”

Fernandez meanwhile says that that his main objective is to have “a bright smile on my face” during the year, the Spaniard insisting that his “best opportunities” for success reside with RNF following a tough maiden MotoGP season last year with the Tech 3 KTM team.

“My principal goal this year is to come back with a bright smile on my face,” added Fernandez.

“I’m really happy to be part of the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team, because I think I have the best opportunities here.

“We did a good job in Sepang and Portimao and now I’m really enthusiastic to start the season.”
