Lewis Hamilton jumped to the top of the times during second practice for the Spanish Grand Prix, whilst Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel was second ahead of Nico Rosberg.

Key Points from FP2:

Hamilton comfortably led the way during the afternoon session, posting a 1:26.852, to go almost half a second quicker than Vettel’s best.

Rosbergg suffered a gearbox issue when downshifting which scuppered his fastest lap, meaning he had to settle for third when the flag fell on the session.

Daniil Kvyat did well to go fifth, a second off the pace, whilst team-mate Daniel Ricciardo hit trouble. The Australian was forced to change his engine between FP1 and FP2, meaning he only hit the track with five minutes to go.

McLaren faired better, with Jenson Button going seventh quickest in the upgraded and reliveried MP4-30, ahead of team-mate Fernando Alonso back in 11th.

Romain Grosjean, 12th, was forced to remain in the garage for an hour, before posting a lap just over two seconds off the lead pace, albeit quicker than Pastor Maldonado in 14th.
