Jon Armstrong has retired from Rally Croatia in stage four after he understeered off the road in a section of roadworks and destroyed both right-hand tyres, and possibly caused suspension damage to his Ford Puma.
Armstrong had a mega stage three, missing out on his maiden WRC stage win by 0.1 seconds.
Sami Pajari, with a 2.7 second lead over Thierry Neuville after Evans’ demise on stage three, more than doubled his advantage on stage four with Takamoto Katsuta moving into second position after the Hyundai driver dropped to third after losing six seconds.
