Marco Bezzecchi admits he faced “a lot of difficulties” in order to turn his Thai MotoGP Sprint disappointment into a Sunday victory.

Bezzecchi dominated Sunday’s Grand Prix, leading from lights to flag to record his third successive victory counting back to 2025.

However, the Italian rider still left points on the table, crashing from the lead in the Sprint race following a two lap battle with Marc Marquez.

After his strong response in the main race, Bezzecchi praised Aprilia for giving him the “perfect” bike.

“It was very important to try and react after yesterday’s mistake,” Bezzecchi said via GPOne.

“I knew that with the medium rear tyre I would be strong enough, but it’s never easy.

“I tried to get a good start and, when I got in front, to open up a gap and manage the tyres.

“It wasn’t easy, but I felt good throughout the race. The guys did a fantastic job because the bike was perfect.”

Bezzecchi also admitted he felt “added difficulty” to get over the Sprint disappointment, which caused a hindrance to his Sunday preparation.

The Aprilia rider suffered three crashes on Saturday, but felt “the only forgivable” one was while riding on the limit during qualifying.

Nonetheless, Bezzecchi was able to “stay calm” and made up for the mistake by taking Sunday victory.

“There were a lot of difficulties today as there are every Sunday, plus the added difficulty of getting over yesterday,” Bezzecchi admitted.

“The only forgivable crash was the crash in qualifying because it was my last attempt and in that moment you push to the max, all risks are allowed.

“The mistake in the Sprint was a small one, but it had a big consequence. So, it was important to stay calm and make up for it.”

Marco Bezzecchi: Aprilia ‘won’t rest on our laurels’ throughout 2026 MotoGP season

There have been suggestions that Aprilia now has the best bike on the 2026 MotoGP grid after all four of its riders showcased strong pace throughout the ThaiGP.

Bezzecchi took the top prize by winning the race as Raul Fernandez also stepped onto the podium for Trackhouse in third, while Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura both finished in the top five.

Asked about Aprilia’s potential for the remainder of the season, Bezzecchi remained coy about his chances at a championship battle.

However, the Italian also praised the manufacturer and implored the team “to keep going” in the right direction.

“Aprilia did a great job over the winter to bring important material, but we’ve only raced one race,” Bezzecchi said.

“The championship is long and it’s always impossible to make comparisons. Let’s stay calm, stay focused and stay hungry to do the best we can.

“In this part of the championship, we have to look at each race individually.

“We did well here, but we must never rest on our laurels because it only takes one moment to change, that’s MotoGP for you.

“Yesterday, it took nothing to throw everything away. We have to take advantage of our guys’ skills to keep going like this.”
