Team boss Davide Brivio has revealed that Trackhouse Racing is looking to remain Aprilia’s satellite team heading into the 2027 MotoGP regulations.
The American outfit finished seventh in its sophomore year on the back of Aprilia’s most successful season in MotoGP, with Spanish rider Raul Fernandez securing a maiden win at Phillip Island before finishing second at the season finale in Valencia.
Set to enter its third season in the premier class, the Noale manufacturer’s customer team will be looking to extend its partnership into the new era after taking over from RNF Racing in 2024 on a three-year deal.
“The plan for the future is to renew the contract with Aprilia,” Brivio revealed to GPone.
“Yes, it’s expiring, and we’re already talking about it with Massimo [Rivola]. Some of the most important things are already pretty much defined; it’s just a matter of discussing the details.
“It’s good to compare notes a bit. For them, it was their first time with a satellite team, and now we’re in our third year with Trackhouse Aprilia.
“In my opinion, we have things to discuss constructively, also to improve what needs to be done, so yes, we will continue with Aprilia, but we need to sit down and talk about it more.”

Davide Brivio proposes changes to the current MotoGP race weekend format
Brivio believes that the MotoGP race weekend format should be changed to the one Formula 1 uses on its select Sprint race weekends.
The Italian explained that too much emphasis is placed on the second practice session on Friday, as the top ten classified riders automatically qualify for the second phase.
He therefore suggests holding two separate qualifying sessions: one for the Sprint and one for the Grand Prix.
“It’s my personal opinion, but I don’t like Friday afternoon, when you have to be in the top ten already, and it affects the whole weekend,” he admits.
“Friday should be the Sprint qualifying, and then there should be a real qualifying session for Sunday’s race, so that you have two different lineups and you don’t compromise the weekend if something goes wrong on Friday afternoon.
“In my opinion, it would also be more spectacular, it would create more interest and there would be more results to follow over the weekend.
“This is to say that the sporting side works, we have great riders and very committed manufacturers with a lot of technical competition, and as always, everything can be improved.
“However, I believe that Liberty’s priority is more on the promotional and media side now.”
