Porsche’s Julien Andlauer leads by just a few tenths ahead of Ricky Taylor in the #10 Wayne Taylor Cadillac, as the German manufacturer continues to lead the Daytona 24 Hours with 2 hours gone.
The race was, until very recently, under yellow to recover the stricken #62 Risi Competizione Ferrari, which has stopped just after the bus stop with damage. It collided with the #033 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari of James Calado. At the same time, the #6 Porsche pitted with damage caused by an earlier incident with an LMP2 car, when Vanthoor’s teammate Kevin Estre was at the wheel.
Laurens Vanthoor was at the wheel of the #6 car, having only recently climbed into the car. His Porsche gained damage from the incident, and resulting in the car spending some time in the pits under yellow, and is now at least a lap down.
Estre took the lead before the end of the first hour from Nasr and retained it through the first round of pitstops. The Frenchman was in the lead for most of the second hour, but Nasr took the lead back with an audacious move at turn 1.
Andlauer has replaced Nasr in the leading #7 Porsche, with R. Taylor second and Alex Palou third in the #93 Acura, which started on pole in the hands of Renger van der Zande.
In third is Renger van der Zande in the #93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing machine, 15 seconds or so off Nasr in the lead. He started on pole but has dropped back as the Porsche have stretched their legs in the lead.

#99 AO Racing assumes LMP2 lead at Daytona
In LMP2, PJ Hyett leads in the #99 AO Racing Oreca, but the off-strategy Ben Keating, in the #52 BHA PR1/Mathiasen has pitted from the lead and will likely take it back, from fourth, when the cars ahead pit.
Second in class is the #43 Inter Europol Oreca of Jakub Smiechowski, almost 40s off Hyett in the lead. Third is Gregoire Saucy in the #22 United Autosports Oreca, running only a few tenths off Smiechowski ahead.
In GTD Pro, it’s a Corvette 1-2 led by Nicky Catsburg in the #4 Corvette car. Alexander Sims, who started on pole in the sister #3 machine, is second, around 2 seconds off his teammate. Fred Vervisch is third in the #65 Ford Mustang GT3, just a few tenths behind Sims.
Russell Ward is leading GTD in the #57 Winward Mercedes-AMG, with the class polesitter, Zach Robichon, third in the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage, some way behind. Third in class is Patrick Gallagher in the #96 Turner BMW.
