Miko Marczyk and Szymon Gospodarczyk brought their Skoda Fabia RS home in third place on Rally Croatia, the final round of the FIA European Rally Championship which was enough to clinch the title despite not winning a single rally during the season.
Jon Armstrong and Shane Byrne took a comfortable 45 second victory on Rally Croatia – their second in as many rallies – as well as the five power stage bonus points in their M-Sport Ford Fiesta but fell shy of snatching the title from the Poles by six points.

The third title contender, Italian Andrea Mabellini crashed out on stage four on Saturday.
Second in Rally Croatia was Mads Ostberg in his Citroen C3, celebrating his 300th rally in style.
Romet Jurgenson had a brilliant run on Saturday to hold third in the overall classification after stage five until a puncture on the day’s final sixth stage dropped him down to eighth overall. He recovered to finish fourth, but the two point difference between third and fourth cost M-Sport Ford the Team’s Championship, which was won by Team MRF Tyres.
