Alex Marquez is set to be rewarded for his 2025 MotoGP efforts and receive a factory-spec Ducati for the 2026 MotoGP season.
Marquez currently sits second in the World Championship standings behind brother Marc Marquez after a blistering first half of the campaign, where he scored his first Grand Prix victory and five podiums.
The Gresini rider has remained consistent throughout 2025, with Ducati electing to reward his form with a factory bike for 2026.
“It’s an honour to be racing on a factory bike with Team Gresini,” Marquez said in a team statement.
“The team has been working impeccably for a few seasons now, and I believe this is a reward for everyone – for myself and the whole team.
“This is another step forward towards our dreams and doing even better in 2026.
“I’d like to thank Nadia, the team, and of course Gigi and Ducati, who have made me feel important at every moment.”
It had been anticipated that Marquez’s Gresini team-mate Fermin Aldeguer would be the next Ducati rider to receive a factory-spec machine after signing his contract in the Spring of 2024.
It was suggested the Spaniard had a clause in his contract whereby he would receive a GP26 in his second season, however due to the performances of Marquez, this is no longer the case.
Fabio Di Giannantonio will also retain his factory-spec status as the Bologna-based manufacturer expands its army to four GP26s.
“Alex Marquez’s season has been impressive,” said Ducati Corse general manager Gigi Dall’Igna.
“After a series of evaluations, Ducati Corse has decided to further increase our support so that the rider and his working group can continue to grow.
“Alex is making the most of the Desmosedici GP’s potential, and we are convinced that, with new updates, next year we will continue to improve together. This will be an added value for the whole Ducati family.”
