Fabio Quartararo topped the timesheets for Yamaha after an extended second MotoGP practice session in Assen.

The Frenchman set a benchmark time of 1.31.156s, lapping a tenth quicker than Gresini’s Alex Marquez and KTM rider Pedro Acosta.

During the chaotic second practice session, eight different crashes occurred, and two seperate red flags halted proceedings following incidents involving Ai Ogura and Lorenzo Savadori.

Marc Marquez had a fall at Turn 7 and appeared winded, but no injuries have been reported just yet.

Marco Bezzecchi showed Aprilia’s competitiveness by securing fourth spot, producing better times than the factory Ducati duo of Francesco Bagnaia and Marquez.

Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli secured a place in Q2 for VR46 Ducati, finishing seventh and ninth, respectively.

Maverick Vinales wrapped up practice in eighth place, once again showing his strong form for Tech3 KTM.

Johann Zarco and LCR Honda will be pleased with 10th place as the Frenchman racks up another Q2 appearance.

Raul Fernandez missed out on an automatic spot by only 0.001s, but the Trackhouse rider showed impressive form to lap faster than Gresini’s Fermin Aldeguer.

Alex Rins and Miguel Oliveira claimed 13th and 14th, lapping quicker than the struggling Enea Bastianini.

Jack Miller and Joan Mir occupied 16th and 17th, ahead of KTM’s Brad Binder who finished in the lower positions once more.

Lorenzo Savadori, Ai Ogura, Somkiat Chantra, and Aleix Espargaro all closed out proceedings, representing Aprilia and Honda.
