Marco Bezzecchi posted his best lap on his final run to top the charts in the first Mugello MotoGP practice session.
The Italian posted a rapid lap of 1.46.199s on his RS-GP, matching that of second place rider Pedro Acosta.
Acosta and Brad Binder impressed to secure second and third place for KTM, while Ducati’s Marc Márquez took fourth, with all four riders separated by less than a tenth of a second.
Fabio Di Giannantonio promoted himself up to fifth on the VR46 Ducati, and once again Fabio Quartararo finished the session as the lead Yamaha rider.
Maverick Vinales added to the KTM dominance by taking seventh, finishing ahead of Francesco Bagnaia who placed his GP25 in eighth.
Alex Marquez claimed ninth aboard his GP24 Gresini bike, while LCR Honda’s Johann Zarco rounded off the top ten.
The remaining Yamaha riders of Jack Miller, Alex Rins and Miguel Oliveria occupied 11th through to 13th, all separated by under 0.050s.
Franco Morbidelli could only finish the session in 14th, but posted a better lap than Trackhouse’s Ai Ogura on his return after a spell on the sidelines.
Enea Bastianini finished a second behind his KTM colleagues down in 16th, finishing ahead of Honda stand in and test rider Takaaki Nakagami.
Fermin Aldeguer finished a surprise 18th, but lapped faster than Trackhouse’s Raul Fernandez and Honda’s Joan Mir.
Somkiat Chantra and Lorenzo Savadori finished in the last two places once again.
