Mathieu Jaminet topped the third free practice session for the #5 Porsche Penske 963 Hypercar as part of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Jaminet set a fastest lap time of 3:24.717 in the #5 Porsche in a session featuring just one red flag, after #193 AF Corse Oreca 07 LMP2 driver Francois Perrodo overshot his braking into entry of the Porsche curves.
He reversed and drove back to the pits with minimal front-left bodywork damage, so the red flag allowed circuit officials to tidy up after other cars intermittently pushed or made light contact with other tyre barriers around the circuit.
Earl Bamber finished in P2 at 0.816 seconds behind Jaminet with a 3:25.533 lap time.
The other #12 JOTA Porsche finished in third after Will Stevens completed a 3:25.609 time.
Two Ferrari 499Ps were next in the finishing order, in fourth and fifth positions – the #51 AF Corse Ferrari followed by the privateer-entered #83 Ferrari.
WRT’s #20 BMW M Hybrid (Sheldon van der Linde) claimed seventh (3:26.367) ahead of the #4 Porsche Penske machine, the fastest lap of which was set by x (3:26.855).
The #311 Whelen Cadillac took ninth after Jack Aitken drove a 3:26.91, and the reigning Le Mans-winning #51 AF Corse Ferrari rounded out the top 10 in the Hypercar category.
