Ducati’s Marc Marquez continued his dominance at Austin to top the timesheets in the final MotoGP practice session.

Marquez set an unchallenged time of a 2:02.113 to finish FP2 as the fastest rider ahead of his brother Alex Marquez.

Unlike the previous two sessions on Friday, the final practice remained dry throughout, allowing some manufacturers to get an insight into their true pace.

The Spanish rider immediately set the pace and finished the session almost half a second clear of Gresini’s Marquez in second.

The biggest challenge to the Marquez dominance came from last season’s winner Maverick Vinales, who ended the session in third.

Honda also proved to be strong in practice, with Joan Mir in fourth and Luca Marini pipped to fifth by Francesco Bagnaia.

Fabio Quartararo finished seventh for Yamaha ahead of the VR46 pair of Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli.

Pedro Acosta rounded out the top ten for KTM , narrowly clear of Marco Bezzecchi’s best time aboard the Aprilia and rookie Fermin Aldeguer.

Jack Miller concluded the final practice session in 13th, while Johann Zarco was 14th for LCR Honda.

Raul Fernandez was 15th for Trackhouse ahead of 2022 race winner Enea Bastianini in 16th.

Ai Ogura suffered a crash at Turn 6 and ended the session in 17th for Trackhouse ahead of the struggling Brad Binder.

Two-time Austin winner Alex Rins was 19th while Pramac Yamaha stand-in Augusto Fernandez was 20th.

Somkiat Chantra completed the session in 21st while Lorenzo Savadori rounded out the timesheet in 22nd.
