In an identical fate that eliminated Carlos Sainz from the Dakar, the FIA inspected the roll cage in Loeb’s Dacia Sandrider and deemed it unsafe to continue.
In spite of Prodrive’s representation that the damaged rollcage element was not structural in nature, the FIA stuck to its guns and Loeb was disqualified from the race.
